ROCKY MOUNT — The Eastern Carolina Corvette Club will host the corvette and classic car show of attendees’ choice on Saturday, April 9 at Don Bullock Chevrolet, 1920 N. Wesleyan Blvd.. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m.

Bailey commissioners will meet

BAILEY — The City’s Board of Commissioners will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 18 at Bailey City Hall, 6217 Main Street.

Farmer’s Market Opening Set

NASHVILLE — The Nashvile Farmers’ Market will hold its grand opening and first market day from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, April 22 at 723 S. Barnes St.

The market is a joint project of the City of Nashville and the Nash County government and will feature fresh local produce, arts and crafts.

The plate sale supports the 4th of July festivities

CASTALIA — The City of Castalia’s 4th of July Committee will be hosting a barbecue chicken plate sale at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 23 at 9507 Main Street.

The barbecue chicken will be sold for $10 a plate while supplies last. Proceeds benefit the city’s annual Independence Day celebration.

Miracle Park to Host Mother-Son Luau


ELM CITY – The Nash County Miracle Park at Coopers, 3471 Joyner Road, will host a Mother & Son Luau from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 30.

Organizers say the afternoon will include games, food and prizes. The park is located in the unincorporated Coopers community of Nash County and has an address in Elm City.

Beddingfield High meeting scheduled

WILSON — The Beddingfield High School Class of 1991 will host a 30-year reunion dinner and dance on Saturday, October 15. The venue and timing have yet to be announced.

Teachers and their dates are invited for free, and alumni and dates are invited for a fee. All attendees must RSVP.

The meal program is looking for volunteers

NASHVILLE — Nash County Senior Services is looking for volunteers for the agency’s Meals on Wheels program in Spring Hope, Bailey and the West Mount area.

The program provides a hot, nutritious lunch to seniors on 10 routes in Nash County. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and underlying medical conditions, several volunteers were unable to participate. Organizers are looking for adults with no chronic health conditions and no risk factors for COVID-19 who are available from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at least one weekday each week to deliver meals. Depending on the route, meal deliveries take around half an hour to an hour.
