When it comes to electric vehicles, Toyota lags behind other popular automakers. The company is finally launching an electric SUV in mid-2022. The Toyota bZ4X isn’t as flashy as other electric SUVs, but Toyota might have a bargain to crush the competition.
Toyota gives bZ4X owners the gift of a free recharge

According to Road Show by CNET, Toyota is teaming up with EVgo to offer an entire year of free fast charging to bZ4X buyers. Kia also offers free EV charging in partnership with Electrify America, but not for an entire year. This offer is perhaps the best electric vehicle incentive from an automaker yet.
The move is especially great given the current state of the economy. Inflation has a huge impact on middle class Americans. Gas prices are exorbitant and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is pushing prices even higher. Gasoline prices are making it much more difficult to own an internal combustion vehicle in 2022.
Apart from gas prices, this free charging strategy also complements the low price of the bZ4X. According to Kelley Blue Book, the 2023 Toyota bz4X will start at around $36,000. After federal EV tax credits, its price will be closer to $28,500.
Between the affordable electric SUV price and Toyota’s incredible new fast-charging offering, the bZ4X is shaping up to be the best new electric SUV offering on the market. A year of free fast-charging on an affordable electric vehicle is hard to turn down, as trips to the gas station become increasingly heartbreaking. Will gas prices drive drivers out of their vehicles and into a new bZ4X?

The 2023 Toyota bZ4X doesn’t have the longest range in its vehicle segment. It won’t be as exciting as some of its rivals spec-wise. Toyota has never been as performance driven as some of its competitors. The Japanese automaker is focused on providing practical and reliable vehicles that can outlast many competitors.
The bZ4X uses a heat pump to help its battery operate in extreme weather conditions. Extremely cold temperatures have caused many electric vehicles to lose the ability to heat their cabins. The extreme cold has even led to a total loss of power in some electric vehicles. Toyota anticipated this issue and took special precautions to ensure that the bZ4X does not encounter the reliability issues typical of electric vehicles.

If you’re looking to save money, there are few electric SUVs on the market that offer the same value after Toyota’s partnership with EVgo. Move over the RAV4, Toyota’s all-new SUV is aiming for the top spot.
